In some cities, a Truth in Housing evaluation is required by city ordinance when selling a house,
townhouse, or condo. It may also be called a Truth in Sale of Housing or Time of Sale report. These
include Minneapolis Truth in Housing, St. Paul Truth in Housing, Maplewood Truth in Housing,
Bloomington Time of Sale, South St. Paul Time of Sale, and Hopkins Truth in Housing.
I'm licensed in all these cities and I can help you through the process.

The cities of Brooklyn Park, Crystal, New Hope, Osseo, Richfield, and St. Louis Park also require an
inspection when selling. These cities use only city employees for inspections. Here are the links to
those cities:
What should I do before my Truth in Housing
or Time of Sale inspection?
- View the city's website, listed above, for specific information and to review their FAQs and
handouts.
- Make sure that all rooms are accessible. I must be able to evaluate every room in the house. If
there are rooms that are locked or blocked off, this will require a return trip and an additional fee.
- Make sure that the house's attic is accessible. If the attic hatch is in a closet, please move your
personal items ahead of time.
- Make sure that the garage is accessible. If there is an attic in the garage, I must see this also.
Please move cars out of the garage if necessary to reach the garage attic.
- Make sure that the furnace, water heater, water meter, and electrical panels are accessible. If
there are stored items that block access, please move these items ahead of time.
